Reversing the trend of Online Casinos in the U.S.

UIEGA was passed into law in the United States in October 2006, by an act of President George W. Bush. In essence, it forbade US banks from conducting financial transactions with offshore US Online Casinos sites. A year and a half later, there is legislation presently in Congress to overturn this law and to allow US banks to conduct business with the online casino sites.
UIEGA is the legislation that initially stopped US players from participating in gaming online, and the casino gaming industry suffered from this law. However, there was no mention in the law of repercussions for the players, only for the banks, and Online Casinos sites began once again to accept the US player. After about a year, public sentiment in the United States turned against UIEGA and in the favor of casino gaming. The online casinos are now in position to regain the US player.
As we speak, a bill formulated by Congressman Barney Frank of Massachusetts and co-sponsored by 44 other representatives from Congress will be reviewed by that body. It would overturn the UIEGA and allow online casinos to do business again with people on American soil. If you are at all interested in individual rights and freedoms and in online gaming, we urge you to call your local congressman and support the repeal of this unfair act.
