USA is still trailing behaind europe in legalized online gambling

The Economist reported that a study for the European Parliament last year found that “seven of the union’s 27 members outlaw online gambling. Of the other 20, only 13 have liberalised their markets. The rest limit online gambling to monopolies owned or licensed by the state.”
Online casino gambling is still illegal in the USA and the government has ordered banks to freeze accounts that are used to process payments for online poker operators to prevent players from using online services provided by Offshore gambling suppliers.
There is hope of change, it has been reported that the legalisation of online poker ranked near the top of the US citizen wish-list policy proposals submitted to Barack Obama through the website Change.gov.
Goldman Sachs is predicting the legalization of online casino gambling USA , “a legal online poker and casino market would be worth up to $12 billion, too great a benefit for lawmakers to ignore”.
